All puppies are placed!

It is my great delight to announce all 10 puppies have found their new homes. I am so glad! I hope to stay in touch with all the new families and have puppy visits down the road. Our next litters will be this spring between Hannah and Jude. Daisy will be having her first litter with Deuce an AKC male from a local breeder in the area. I am really excited to see what their puppies look like and we will be keeping a female from this litter as our own. It never gets boring!

Looks like we only have one puppy still available. We are calling him "Big Boy" as he was the largest in the litter. He is everything you look for in a puppy. He is loving and playful and oh so sweet.

AKC shih puppies - reducing price

Hey out there. We have two AKC shih tzu males available. They are 9 wks old and ready to go home. Please contact me if you are interested in one. My standard price is always $550 however with me on maternity leave with no pay and the cost of still having the puppies it is time to reduce the price and hope to find a solid match. These two bits are now $400 with bill of sale, AKC papers, vet papers and shots, info packet and we offer free sitting for life. This is the first time for us to have puppies still available this late and I don't see this happening again. So if you've been on the fence about one of my puppies now is the time to act!

Taking your new puppy home

The first week you have your new puppy is an important week. You are setting up boundaries and expectations for your new baby. Here is the thing to remember - while you see your puppy as your "baby" they need to be treated as a puppy/dog in order to raise a happy well adjusted shih tzu. If you treat your puppy as a baby and don't set up a routine and structure your puppy will think he/she is the Alfa of your pack and that means trouble. If you dream if having your puppy sleep in your bed please wait until they are older and have learned to hold their waste until going outside.

I am always here to listen and if you ask I will give you my thoughts and advise. Not only do I have my own experience raising and training shih tzus but I get to learn from all of you over the years. We believe 100% In crate training. Our puppies are those crates now as their bedrooms and are happy to go to bed when we tell them to. At night when we start to turn the tv off and ready the house for bed our dogs jump off the couch and happily run to their kennels. :) they know!

Anyway the point to this blog post is to state the importance of training your puppy. Be consistent and don't give in when the puppy whines the first few nights. They will adjust and be happy - that's their nature. To help ease them into crate training keep your crate in a quiet place where they can't see or hear you. Tire them out before bedtime and always take them out before putting them in or pulling them out of the crate. It is worth it!

We only have two babies left. Baby boy A and D and let me tell you they aren't lacking in the adorable department. This is my favorite time where they start eating big boy food and responding to us people. Love!

3 little puppies remaining

All of Daisy's puppies have now been placed. We have 3 beautiful puppies remaining in Hanna's litter. I will post 3 week old pictures of her litter later on today. Baby Boy A and D and Bella Donna are the three remaining. I have to say I am always surprised at how quickly I find owners for my puppies and which ones are the last to be picked. :) Being that they just turned 3 weeks old I am not at all worried about finding the perfect homes for these guys and lady. The boys are standard shih tzu sized and Bella Donna is the tiniest puppy I have had to date. We will be placing her but she will not be ready to go to her forever home until 12 weeks old. I want to make sure she has all the time she needs with her mommy to grow and be healthy. I am taking all 10 puppies to the vet later on today for their vet check/de-worming. I should be a pretty hilarious sight as I myself am 9 months pregnant currently. LOL. Big pregnant lady with a basket full of pups. I obvioulsy adore babies of the 2 and 4 leg variety. ;)

Puppy Update

All puppies have their eyes open now. So sweet! I will try taking a video tonight to get some good closeups of everyone. They will be crawling about before you know it! We currently still have five puppies available. I have one family set to come pick their puppy this weekend.

Daisy's puppies are 2 weeks old!

Time is flying fast and soon they will be ready for their forever homes. Please let me know if you are interested in one of these guys. Currently we have a deposit on Lexy and Baxter.
